"Bronze Dagger From Luristan – 2nd-1st Millennium Bc."
Bronze dagger from Luristan (western Iran), dating from the 2nd–1st millennium BC. The elongated triangular blade displays a beautiful antique green patina typical of buried bronzes. The cylindrical handle is adorned with three molded rings and terminates in a crescent-shaped pommel characteristic of Luristanian production. This type of weapon was used both as a prestige weapon and as a ritual object by the peoples of the Zagros Mountains. Its state of preservation is consistent with a piece three millennia old.
