"Portrait Of A Young Boy In A Red Suit"
Portrait of a Young Boy in a Red Coat – French School, circa 1770-1790. Charming portrait of a young boy from a good family, depicted in bust form within a painted faux oval, wearing an elegant red coat adorned with large buttons, typical of the Louis XVI period. His powdered hair, white cravat, and colorful ribbons perfectly highlight the fashion of the last third of the 18th century. A beautifully executed painting, attributable to a French provincial painter. Minor craquelure consistent with age, old varnish, and small imperfections. The painting remains in its original condition, never having undergone restoration.
