The Circumcision Of Christ
Religious composition executed in pen and brown ink in the taste of the great Flemish and Italian schools of the 17th century. The scene, particularly rich and animated, presents the Infant Jesus at the center of the composition, surrounded by the Virgin Mary, the officiating high priest and numerous characters attending the sacred ceremony, while a celestial glory populated by angels and clouds dominates the upper part.
The construction of the composition and the movement of the figures recall the great Flemish religious models.
