Superb double porcelain figurine depicting Two Etruscans in Armor, from the famous Wedding Procession by Adolph Amberg,
one of the most remarkable Jugendstil sets produced by the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin (KPM).
Designed between October 1908 and 1910, this model was executed by the KPM in 1911.
The sculpture rests on a low plinth and bears the following
marks: blue scepter, red imperial apple, model number 9617, annual letter “L” for 1911,
and the inscription AMBERG engraved on the plinth.
Height: approx. 38.5 cm (1 inch = 2.54 cm).
Condition: Excellent; low plinth, very well preserved.
The Amberg Wedding Procession comprises 20 figures (including two double figures), accompanied by two candelabra, a jardinière, and three round stemmed cups.
As one of the two double figures, the Etruscans occupy a central place in the sculptural composition of the procession.
