Wolfers, silversmith – Pair of three-arm vermeil candelabra, “Perle” model, on silver display mirrors
2. Description
A superb pair of three-arm vermeil silver candelabra, signed by the prestigious Wolfers firm, made in 925 silver for export. The baluster stem and circular base decorated with pearls form an elegant and perfectly balanced “Perle” model.
The candle arms, with their foliate scrolls, extend into volutes adorned with stylized acanthus leaves and terminate in finely molded candle cups and sockets, highlighting the refinement of the silversmithing.
Each candelabra is presented on its original silver-mounted mirror, also hallmarked Wolfers. The mirrors beautifully reflect the light and visually enhance the brilliance of the vermeil. One of the mirrors has mercury pitting on the silvering, the other is intact; this small flaw remains very discreet once the candelabra are in place and does not detract from the overall visual impact. The candelabra themselves are in perfect condition, without restoration, with a luminous vermeil highly prized by collectors.
