Frederic Lloveras (1912-1983) - Windsor Castle
Oil on canvas. Frédéric Lloveras i Herrera was a Catalan painter, illustrator, and watercolorist, considered one of the greatest representatives of post-war Catalan watercolor and nicknamed the "Prince of Watercolor." He studied at the Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc and the Escola de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi. Although he initially worked in oils, it was during the Spanish Civil War that he devoted himself to drawing and watercolor, a technique in which he excelled thanks to his great sensitivity, technical precision, and the freshness of his colors. Stylistically, he is associated with Catalan Post-Impressionism, capturing with his precise brushstrokes the light, gesture, and emotion of urban landscapes and human figures. An indefatigable traveler, Lloveras painted European cities such as Paris, London and Venice, and collaborated as an illustrator on several works, including Gypsy Ballads and the book Barcelona, with texts by Camilo José Cela.- Dimensions of the image without frame: 98 x 43 cm / 125 x 70 cm with a magnificent custom-made white frame.
