Vico Viganò (1874-1967) - Author Of The Letter
- Oil on canvas.- With an ecstatic gaze, imbued with a creative spirit, dressed in his work clothes and enveloped in an aura of gray pigments halfway between the experimental and the explosive, the great Milanese artist and engraver paints a self-portrait in his studio. He does not do so from a purely physical perspective, but from one of self-knowledge and spiritual approach, accomplishing the difficult task of grasping his own psychology.- Vico Viganò (1874-1963) was born in the province of Milan and led a solid artistic career in the transition between the 19th and 20th centuries. Although he cultivated painting with remarkable intensity, it was in printmaking that he achieved his greatest recognition, winning prizes that consolidated his prestige in this field. His painting is distinguished by the use of intense and vigorous colors, applied with broad and materialized brushstrokes that give his canvases a particular energy. Landscapes and portraits were his favorite subjects, always inspired by the places where he lived and worked.- Unframed image dimensions: 60 x 80 cm / 78 x 97 cm, with an elegant custom-made frame.- Galerie Montbaron includes a technical sheet prepared by a certified art historian with each lot. This sheet is sent digitally upon request.
