Gurunsi Stool From Burkina Faso
Gurunsi stool from Burkina Faso with zoomorphic representation.
The animal is depicted in a stylised manner, with, as is often the case, two small front legs and a more developed rear leg. The attractive head has a pleated neck. The right front leg has been repaired in the past using a small wooden support fixed by a tenon passing through the stool to the neck, making the whole slightly unstable.
Beautiful amber patina showing signs of use.
Provenance: former Cyrille Morgoulis collection, Paris.
