Large Canton Porcelain Bowl On A Gilt Bronze Mount
Large oval Canton porcelain bowl. Resting on a four-legged, openwork gilt-bronze base, this 19th-century Canton porcelain bowl is decorated with figures depicting scenes of daily life, embellished with a rich floral and animal motif (birds, butterflies, and insects). Gilt highlights enhance this decoration. The bowl is painted inside and out, as well as under the base. It features large, double-folded handles in the form of scrolling branches. The rim of the bowl is protected by a gallery of openwork beading. Beautifully gilded with gold leaf, the porcelain bowl is flawless. Weight: 3.6 kg
