"Cavalry Musket Of The Imperial Guard. First Empire. "
Imperial Guard cavalry musket loop. First Empire. The musket loop is made of whitened buffalo hide, stitched for the Imperial Guard cavalry, with brass fittings. The loop is decorated with a very fine imperial eagle surmounted by a crown; these two distinct elements are made of cast brass, finely finished with a chisel and then mercury-gilded. The other fittings on the musket loop are also brass, and it includes a loop for adjusting the length. A strong iron hook for attaching the musket loop is riveted to a rectangular iron ring. The musket loop measures 66/68 mm wide. Very good condition.
