Framed Set Of Six Antique Japanese Menuki, Samurai Sword Ornaments, Edo–meiji (19th C.)

A framed group of six original Japanese menuki (目貫), the metal ornaments traditionally mounted on the handle of a samurai sword. These Edo–Meiji (19th century) fittings are mounted on a wooden backing and set in a mid-20th-century wooden frame.

Motifs include:
– Samurai helmet (kabuto)
– Butterfly & carp
– Oni / shishi mask
– Three-legged wealth toad with money bag
– Reclining rat
– Crane

A decorative and authentic presentation of classic Japanese sword fittings.

Good condition.
Frame size: 12.8 × 20 cm.
