Artist: Anna Proszynska (1924/2008)
Annie Proszynska was born in Nogent-sur-Marne in 1924. After studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she turned to painting and printmaking. From 1959 onwards, she participated in group exhibitions at the Galerie Hamon and presented her canvases at the Salon d'Automne. Solo exhibitions were held at the Kiefer Gallery in Paris and at the Matarasso Gallery in Nice. She lived in Nice from 1964 until her death; her canvases, often inspired by the Mediterranean and richly colored in pastel tones, play on the superimposition of sketched forms and silhouettes.
