After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he became a student of Ernest Laurent and Devambez.
A talented artist, he produced numerous frescoes and paintings, notably for churches and public buildings: the church of Bône in Algeria, the prefecture of Ardèche, the church of Allos, and that of Cogolin.
Appointed drawing teacher at the Lycée Dumont-d'Urville in Toulon, Louis Giraud focused primarily on religious subjects, as evidenced by the painting he presented at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1931, his only participation in this exhibition.
