"René Schlosser Painting On Canvas Circa 1980"
Painting by René Schlosser (1933-2017) on canvas mounted on a frame. The work presents a semi-abstract landscape, where trees and reliefs mingle, in a play of transparencies and colored superpositions. This work is part of Schlosser's research on pictorial material, carried out in the late 1970s and early 1980s, upon his return to France after his stay in the Maghreb. While his approach sometimes evokes the experiments of Supports/Surfaces, it retains a more personal and poetic dimension.
