"Claudius Linossier Art Deco Hammered Copperware Vase"
Copper vase made using the dinanderie technique, with a finely hammered surface, characteristic of the work of Claudius Linossier (1893-1953). The flared and balanced shape as well as the warm patina with iridescent reflections testify to the technical mastery specific to the artist. This type of piece is part of the revival of decorative arts of the 1920s-1930s, when Linossier contributed to making Lyon a reference center for metal arts. A student of Jean Dunand, he distinguished himself by a refined and rigorous approach, influenced by the Art Deco movement.
