The work is in good condition and signed lower left. Dimensions with frame: 67/88 cm. André Beaucé is a French painter born on May 23, 1911 in Rennes and died in Paris on January 2, 1974. Student of the École des Beaux-Arts de Rennes, graduate of the École des Arts Décoratifs where he was admitted in 1932, he was a student in the workshops of André Lhote and Simon, with Yves Brayer. He won the Prix Abd-el-Tif in 1946. A discreet modernist painter, and "great talent" (quoted by Pierre Parsus), he was recognized by his peers as the creator of a work of exceptional quality. He was appointed professor of drawing at the City of Paris.
