Early 19th Century Empire Walnut Psyche

Elegant carved solid walnut psyche with gilded and ebonized wood details. The psyche has a linear shape, curved legs, and an original period movable mirror. The piece is also decorated with original lost-wax cast and gilded bronze details, featuring classical-style vegetal and figurative decorations, such as Bacchantes, Cupids, and mythological deities, which lend further refinement. This is a piece of great class and taste, capable of furnishing any space with elegance and a touch of antiquity. Manufactured by Lucchese (Lucca, Tuscany, Italy), from the Empire period, circa early 19th century.
