Pair of giltwood candelabra mirrors, Swedish work from the 19th century, circa 1830.

- These rectangular giltwood mirrors feature refined decoration, partly composed of moldings interspersed with friezes of pearls and delicately carved heart-shaped motifs. The same is true of the ornament positioned like a pediment: a bowl of fruit supported by facing dolphins, flanked by a garland of vine leaves punctuated with pears and bunches of grapes. The quality of the carving allows for a fine rendering of the materials, such as the curve of the pears, faithfully reproduced thanks to a smooth, convex surface and polished gilding, or the visible detail of each of the dolphins' scales.
- These candelabra mirrors are fitted with two candelabra arms, a combination that enhances their highly decorative character. The mirrored glass reflects the candle flames, which in turn illuminate the gilded wood.
