Elegant and substantial bronze cartel clock with a giltwood base in the Louis XV Rococo style, Napoleon III period, dated 1878. A high-quality piece in gilt bronze with a flowing form, adorned with foliage and flowers. Each face features a Rococo motif framing a large, domed white enamel dial with slender gilt hands, protected by a domed glass set in a chased bezel. Original mechanism, unmodified, dated 1878. Strikes the hours and half-hours on an antique bell. Works perfectly, complete with two keys (a winding key and a small precision advance key). Optional giltwood base.
