Portrait of Sir William Wallace (1270-1305), 17th century, Italian School. Large 17th-century portrait, in the Italian style, depicting the Scottish knight Sir William Wallace. Oil on panel. An excellent quality portrait in very good condition of the legendary Scottish knight who led the First War of Scottish Independence. A rare early portrait of Wallace, painted around 1650 by an Italian artist and presented in a richly ornamented antique gilt frame. Dimensions: approximately 79 x 79 cm (framed).
