The Martyrdom of Saint Andrew, 18th century follower of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1617-1682) - signed Murillo Huge 18th century former Spanish master of the Martyrdom of Saint Andrew, oil on canvas. Magnificent large-scale representation of Saint Andrew attached to the X-shaped cross knowing that he will die and looking up to the sky where the angels wear the crown of martyrdom. The paint has some damage to the top corner of the stretch which has rippled the canvas but will tighten easily with stretcher repair. Without frame.
