Pierre Alechinsky (1927-), Vanity, Unnumbered Lithograph, Rare Unique Essay, 1967

Artist: Pierre Alechinsky (né En 1927 - )
Pierre Alechinsky was born in Brussels, became a naturalized French citizen, and founded the CoBrA group in 1948 with painters Karel Appel, Constant, Corneille, and Asger Jorn, in reaction to the sterile debate between abstraction and figuration.

Countless exhibitions and books have been devoted to this giant of 20th-century art, and his works are held in numerous museums worldwide.

Our color lithograph on Arches wove paper presents a rare figurative example of the painter's work, depicting a skull.
As indicated on the proof in the artist's hand and in pencil in the lower left corner, this is a "trial," a unique print prior to the numbered editions.
The work is signed and dated 1967 in pencil in the lower right corner.
