Charles Lapicque, Idylle étrusque, Original Lithograph Numbered And Signed, 1966
Artist: Charles Lapicque (1898-1988)
Original lithograph on Arches paper numbered lower left 28/50 and signed lower right in pencil by the artist.
Beautiful original lithograph by Charles Lapicque, a Breton artist from Morbihan, painter of the Navy since 1948, who quickly, through his curiosity and chromatic passion, knew how to exceed the isotopy of the Navy and maritime by tracing a singular imprint in the landscape of modern art.
Lapicque possessed great talent as a colorist, but also as a storyteller, preserving a substrate of intelligible figuration, simplified and structured by the line, punctuated by flat tints of color, populated by poetic characters, often undulating like waves, forming an attractive mythology like our lithograph "Etruscan Idyll" created by Charles Lapicque in 1966 ; the period when his art reached its apogee, garnering international recognition through exhibitions in New York and the prize he won at the Venice Biennale.
Condition : Fine condition with some traces of use and minor oxidation.
Sheet size : 68 cm x 53 cm - board alone : 57 cm x 43 cm
