This marquetried cherrywood piece is most likely of provincial origin. The marquetry decorations on the top, depicting a quill and inkwell, suggest it was intended for a writer. It features two hidden drawers, and its original locks—handcrafted by a blacksmith of the period—remain fully functional. The marquetry is composed of exotic woods typical of the 18th century: tulipwood, purpleheart, boxwood, and rosewood. Fully restored, this piece is now in perfect condition.
