Two Hanging Mirrors
rectangular in shape, curved in elevation, with openwork pediments in wood and molded stucco, sculpted and gilded, with scalloped edges, decorated with "Rocaille" motifs, leaves and flowers (the centered flower motif pierced to receive a light arm, they are missing). 19th century work in Louis XV style. Height: 44.8 cm / 46.2 cm Provenance: Palacio Laurgain, Zarautz (province of Guipuzcoa, Spanish Basque Country) Built on the mountainside on the heights of Zarautz, the Palacio Laurgain takes us through time, from the "Spanish golden age" to the 19th century. Several generations of an illustrious family of Grandees of Spain lived there, proud of their Basque branch (Lardizabal), and accumulated furniture, objets d'art, paintings and various works... unfortunately dispersed over time. The coat of arms of the Lardizabal family completes the photos illustrating this lot.
