Vladimir Evgenievich Zebek (Ukrainian: Зебек Володымир Евгенович, 1931, Nikolayev – 2015, Kinburn Spit, by Ochakov) painted a night seascape in the modernist style.
He is one of the most famous and important Soviet and Ukrainian seascape painters of the second half of the 20th century.
Vladimir Zebek was born in May 1931 in Nikolayev. In 1943, he was sent to forced labor in Germany. After the war, he returned to Nikolayev. After the war, he worked as an artist-designer in Crimea and on the Riga coast. After graduating from MAHU (Moscow Higher Art and Pedagogical School), he worked for a time in Zagorsk and Moscow. In 1966, despite the bright career prospects, the reclusive artist settled on Kinburn Point near Ochakov.
