Semi-circular pewter condiment box with a scalloped, molded back and a hanging hole. The flat lid is hinged and the body is decorated with two horizontal moldings.
Hallmark of Frantz Caspar SCHMIDT received as master in 1733: 86 / FCS (§ Erwin Hintze, Volume 7, Ref 516)
Width: 17.5 cm. Height: 24 cm.
WÜRZBURG (Southern Germany), Mid-18th century

Very rare object for food use in good condition and acquired patina, two small old consolidations at the hinge attachments are noted.
