He won the Abd el Tif Prize in 1927. In the 1930s, he ran a gallery in Algiers and collaborated with Albert Camus's L'Equipe theater.
He was the nephew of Georges Rouault, who asked him not to use his surname to avoid confusion.

This painting has been cleaned and given a custom frame.
