Pair Of Italian Empire Gilt Wood Table-lamps Early 19th Century
Pair of antique 19th-century Italian Empire gilt wood table lamps made with finials from the early 1800s, vases on hexagonal plinths with carved plant motifs in pastiglia, mounted as lamps with circular ivory-colored fabric lampshades with gilt trimmings.
The vases are made of lime wood, turned and carved all around with original gilding in fine gold leaf on a red bole preparation. Originally, these gilded finials decorated the ends of a canopy or balustrades, but they are antique decorative elements perfect as bases for the creation of exclusive table, study, or bedside lamps. The antique bases come from northern Italy and are in good condition, with minimal defects compatible with their age. They are wired to European standards and work with an E27 bulb.
We have another set of pairs of lamps available.
