18th Century Italian Louis XV Commode Burl Marquetry Bolognese Chest Of Drawers
Italian 18th century Louis XV two-drawer commode from Bologna, in Emilia Romagna region, a stunning burr walnut and thuya marquetry chest of drawers realized in Italy in the second half of 18th century, in good condition.
Two drawers, front, sides and top a finely throughout decorated with veneered burl thuya and walnut, boxwood, ebony and fruit wood inlays on cabriolet legs.
It comes from a private collection of Milan and showed signs and wear of previous use, losses and minor detachments of veneer, see last listed pictures previous restoration, that’s why we decided to start a conservative restoration of this antique chest of drawer. The new shellac gommalacca polish enhances this wonderful marquetry.
