Very beautiful dresser by Georges SCHLICHTIG opening with four drawers in three rows. Rich ornamentation of high quality gilded bronzes. Very beautiful rosewood and satin marquetry. Very thick royal red marble. G. SCHLICHTIG stamp and JME jurande punch on the front left upright. J.Georges SCHLICHTIG was received master on October 2, 1765. Of German origin, living in the Faubourg St Antoine, he worked for Queen Marie Antoinette.
