"Gustav Schmidtcassel - Pierrot, Bronze Sculpture "
Art Deco bronze sculpture with polychrome patina of a Pierrot, circa 1920, signed on the base. Gustav Schmidt-Cassel studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin with Ernst Herter, whose assistant he became and later took over his studio. He traveled to Italy, Paris, and Russia. In the 1920s, he created sculptures in the Art Deco style, with beautifully detailed costumes.
