Opal-effect glass “Greyhounds” bowl by René Lalique, a design created in 1921. The bowl bears the “VDA” mark in the center, which stands for the Verrerie d’Alsace, located in Wingen-sur-Moder. The “VDA” mark used by René Lalique is rare, as it was used only briefly between 1921 and 1923. Model listed in the Marcilhac catalog as 3214, “CHIENS No. 1” bowl. This model was removed from the catalog in 1932 and not reintroduced after 1947.
