Egg-shaped Meissen porcelain box (Eidose) resting on three rocaille-style feet. Model created by Ernst August Leuteritz between 1860 and 1862. Decorated with floral motifs, gilding, and three exquisitely painted figural scenes. The lid also features fine gilding. Blue crossed-swords mark on the underside; model number C 162. The egg is in very good condition; damage to one foot has been restored (see photos). Listed in the Meissen-Bergmann catalogue.
