Pair Of 18th Century Terracotta Statuettes
A beautiful pair of polychrome terracotta statuettes from the 18th century, representing a man and a woman, both potentially shepherds. The woman, seated, is wearing a long dress and a large hat. Under her elbow is a basket of fruit and at her feet, a sheep is drinking from a fountain. The man, wearing a puffy shirt and a large, wide-brimmed hat, is sitting on a trunk with a basket on his knees acting as a flower pick. At his feet, a dog is watching him. Note a broken finger on the woman and a felle in the man's hat. Information and other photos on request.
