"17th Century Wooden St Roch"
St Roch was a 14th century pilgrim canonized for his suffering endured for the sake of faith. He is the patron saint of pharmacists, surgeons, dermatologists... This Saint is easily recognized by his attributes, notably his wide-brimmed hat, and the wound on one of his legs. This polychrome solid oak statue dates from the 17th century and can be attributed to a German or northern Italian school. It should be noted that he is missing his pilgrim's staff.
