The Luba, a people of many sub-ethnic groups in the Congo, have an extremely refined art. There are many female representations, all rounded and full of scarifications, with a beautiful patina. The Luba considered the female body as the receptacle of spirits. This is what this old, authentic kohl pot reflects. The photos will be more eloquent than my prose.
