Pierre Roux, an artist from Niort, studied at the Arts Décoratifs in Paris, before working in the studio of Auguste Hervé. He also took anatomy classes at the Faculty of Medicine in Paris, where he directed the casting workshops. A sculptor by trade, he carried out commissions for his hometown, notably the statue of Saint Macrina for the chapel of Magné. Also a painter, the world of Pierre Roux is touchingly simple. The scenes of daily life are sublimated by the sweetness of happy days.
