"Pair Of Covered Silver Salt Cellars, René Pierre Ferrier Received In 1775"
Very pretty pair of covered salt cellars in silver by the goldsmith René Pierre Ferrier, received master in 1775. An oil holder and a signed goblet are kept at the Museum of Fine Arts in Paris (Petit Palais). They rest on 4 claw feet, the body is openwork with chiseled laurel garlands with a medallion in the center. The hinged lid is chiseled with channels, the grip in the shape of a pine tree. The interior in blue tinted glass.
