Louis XV style bureau plat circa 1870 called "du Dauphin" in amaranth veneer and gilt bronze.
Darkened movement tray of a burgundy leather embossed with gold, opening by three drawers including a central drawer in its belt,
the lock of this one is signed: Paul Sormani 10 rue Charlot Paris
They stand on four curved feet. Very beautiful ornamentation all faces of gilded and chased bronzes such as lingotière, falls and sabots, staples and medallions in frames on the belt.
The bureau was originally created by Bernard II van Riesenbergh in 1745 for the Dauphin. It is displayed in the grand cabinet of the Dauphin at the Palace of Versailles.
