The Giunti (Iuntae), a great dynasty of Florentine and Venetian printers, were the main competitors of Aldus Manutius in Venice. Philip Iunta (active in Florence between 1497 and 1536) published a large number of Latin authors: Virgil, Sallust, Cicero, and Caesar. The 1520 edition is one of the first post-Aldine Florentine editions, derived from the Venetian edition of 1513 (Aldus Manutius / Andrea Torresanus), but with a typography and layout specific to the Giunti. It demonstrates great philological and typographical care, sometimes accompanied by a frontispiece engraved with the lily of Florence, the emblem of the Giunta house.
