Clock Portico Carrara Marble Watchmaker : Camelin
Very elegant Louis XVI style portico clock, from the Napoleon III
period, signed Camelin, a clockmaker listed in the Tardy dictionary of
French clockmakers. Made of white Carrara marble, it features four
columns with a base and capitals. High-quality gilt bronze
ornamentation featuring a large garland and a cascade of flowers,
embellished with rows of pearls, foliage, and numerous flower vases
framed by two openwork balustrades. Large, domed white enamel dial
decorated with floral garlands, accompanied by finely crafted gilt
hands and protected by domed glass. The space between the columns is
animated by a beautiful sunburst pendulum.
