A 1st Empire Period (1804 - 1815) Clock.
A 1st Empire period chiselled matte and burnished gilt bronze clock. The clock is surmounted by a putto holding a butterfly. The clock is decorated by rosettes and rhombs centered by mascarons on its sides. Its quadrangular base embellished by a stylized leaves frieze is on four spinning legs. White enamelled dial with Roman numerals indicating the hours and Arabic numerals for minutes for each period of 15 minutes signed "Lesieur à Paris", the watchmaker listed in the Dictionnaire des horlogers français de Tardy, 1972. Wire movement.
