Antique-style hydria with double lion's head handles and blue monochrome decoration on a white background depicting a scene of cherubs in a lively landscape and a Latin inscription ‘Elec: dAssa Ferrida’ in a cartouche.
From the Greek word meaning ‘water’, the hydria is a vase used to collect, transport and pour water.
