"Matthew seems to have come from Capernaum. Born in the 1st century, he was one of the 12 apostles of Jesus. He is traditionally considered one of the four evangelists and author of the first Gospel of the New Testament of the Bible, known today as Gospel according to Matthew."
This panel is probably a monastic work, late 18th or early 19th century.
