Amazing model of oil lamp, we find them during 17-18th from wrought iron, often officer's lamp, sometimes damascened, cardan lamp, we could hang it on wall, carry it inclined without it dripping, fireproof...
This one on other hand, is a model of tinsmithing, from 18th century, light wrought iron mount, base and central rosette hand embossed, oval lamp on cardan, cap and movable cover are tinplate, (sheet iron dipped in tin).
Spectacular, neat, with its chain which allowed the rotating cover to still be there...
Quite good condition, blackened, old repair on oval cup, light manufacture, a Popular Art lamp....
