"Gastronomy: Bell Menu And Advertisements, Parisian Brasserie, 1880s"
an ideal object for cinema... Beautiful object, "Belle Epoque", partly silvered brass, piece of silverware engraved of art nouveau floral decoration, ergonomically shaped on level of handle, which hides a spring call bell to call the loufiat! We introduced a 12cm x 18cm menu into slides, protected by one or two transparent sheets. A paper menu of period, original, but yellowed, remained, offered by Maggi consumers. (Julius Maggi circa 1887), on its back, advertising inserts for Parisian companies of that time, with two cells for rent.
Above, crowning the whole, there was perhaps the name of Parisian brewery or broth, engraved on a metal plate. Patented SGDG, France and abroad.
Condition of discovery, and I am very happy to have found it....
