A beautiful bronze depicting the Emperor at a time when his legend was experiencing a resurgence, against the backdrop of the triumphant return of his ashes to France.
This bust, cast using a rather rustic but clearly antique sand-casting technique, depicts a young, energetic, and determined Napoleon, contrasting with many later portrayals.
The bronze, measuring approximately 10 × 10 × 5 cm, is screwed onto a conical, threaded bronze pedestal, which is in turn set within a Sienna marble column from the same period.
A beautiful memento from the period of the Return.
