"Silver Umbrella Handle, Chinese Decoration, Late 19th – Early 20th Century"
Elegant umbrella handle, finely chiseled and decorated with a rich relief decoration of figures, animals, flowers and traditional pavilions. The end is decorated with the Chinese character "福" (fú), symbol of happiness and prosperity. The upper part retains its wooden insert, a remnant of the shaft of the original mount. Probably silver, not hallmarked. Chinese export work, made towards the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century. Length of the metal part: 25 cm.
