Rare Fan, Mita Ogi, Hand Painted, Lacquer Mount And Inlays, Japan, Edo Period

Artist: Non Identifié
True Japanese art object: Very large fan, called "Mita Ogi", used during theatrical performances and processions. The sheet, in paper, delicately painted with a bird in a vegetal decor, is inlaid with flowers in textile mesh, quite unusual, and of great prowess. The handle, in gold Hiramaki-e lacquer, is decorated with garlands of leaves in black lacquer, and inlaid with glass beads or animal material. Signature on the front, unidentified.
Average condition, stains visible on both sides, and a few small tears, clearly visible in my detailed photos.
Japanese working, dating from the very first part of the 19th century, Edo period. Dimensions: 46cm H x 5cm. Open 86cm.
